SBC LULAC Youth Council #705

Dear Student:

On behalf of the LULAC youth membership of San Benito County LULAC Council #705, we invite you to join our youth leadership organization where you will meet new friends and make lasting friendships.

Our Youth Council is made up of a board which includes the President, 2 Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, Sgt at Arms, Chaplain and the Parliamentarian.
These offices are held by youth who are elected by the youth membership each year and also have a desire to be in a leadership position within the LULAC Youth organization.

We are supervised by adult members of LULAC during all meetings.  We discuss activities we want to participate in such as volunteering within our community, helping out senior citizens, planning fund-raisers for our treasury and inviting students to join LULAC Youth.  Other activities include car washes, bake sales, enchilada and candy sales, among others.  Everyone's participation makes it possible to travel to student leadership conferences, youth retreats, state conventions and national conventions out of state.

The youth group invites community members to speak at our meetings, we get to ask questions to the community leaders, and we often get invited to attend their meetings such as City Council meetings, Board of Supervisors, and school boards.  We get to personally know many leaders in our community through our participation in LULAC

LULAC is a well known and credible organization, founded in Corpus Christi Texas on October 17, 1929.  The organization every year assists student with scholarships in helping to further their education.  Every LULAC youth member who is a senior is guaranteed a scholarship to attend college or a university, we are 100% college bound.  Our organization has many success stories, the adult members help us out a lot and they are respectful, helpful and encourage us to succeed.  LULAC Youth are very responsible in their duties as members, they are respected in the community and school.  We all work together to help our parents, teachers and members of this community who need our help.

We are proud to be members of this youth leadership organization and we welcome you to join our family of youth members.
