SBC LULAC Youth Council #705

San Benito County LULAC Youth Organization

The Youth Council was formed on October 5, 1989, and since it's inception they have been active in assisting the community in many events.  They are committed to achieving their goals in life. LULAC  assists youth members with mentorship programs, internship opportunities and scholarships.

Mentorship Program
LULAC Youth is a leadership organization whose goal is to introduce youth to community members who serve as role models in this community.   Youth invite community members to speak during their regular meetings and student conferences.

Intership Program
Opportunities for youth to spend time with local business persons and city/county agencies in order to learn about the business community and their goals.  Many youth members assist local businesses during their community participation in the downtown cleanup day. The youth membership volunteers hours to businesses and agencies for community service hours that are required for classes at school.

Scholarship Program
Youth members hold several fundraisers to raise funding for scholarships. Each LULAC Youth graduating from high school is guaranteed a scholarship.

Leadership Development Training
Youth attend annual District Youth Conferences, State Youth Leadership Conferences, Youth Leadership Retreats, National LULAC Conventions held in different states in the nation and the Washington DC Leadership Development Seminar.

Cultural, Diversity and the Arts Education
Youth are encouraged to research their family backgrounds, learn and appreciate other cultures and diversities. The youth organization participates in local teatro productions, and are encouraged to participate in musical and drama activities.
